Update: Tanja was found dead in Lake Constance on June 6th 2009. RIP.. I am removing the photos as they no longer serve a purpose. BTW the local newspaper is NOT yet sure it is her they found. - Oliver

A 33 year old woman has gone missing in my home area near Lake Constance Germany, please help find her by blogging this.

Her name is Tanja Mayer, she worked in a travel agency and obviously liked biking and hiking. I assume that she speaks fluent English. She left her home in Singen-Fridingen, in south-western Germany, on Nov. 19th at 5:30 AM. She took neither money not luggage with her. She then went by bus to Singen (Hohentwiel). She was last seen in a town ca. 10 km east of that, Radolfzell. She never called, emailed or SMSed, her bank account is untouched. The police has run out of clues. So I hope the blogosphere can help by spreading the word.

In meiner Heimatgegend, dem Hegau (nahe Bodensee), wird eine 33jährige Frau vermisst, ich hoffe auf die Hilfe der Blogosphäre dabei, sie zu finden.

Ihr Name ist Tanja Maier und sie arbeitete in einem Reisebüro in Konstanz. Von den Fotos zu schließen fährt sie gerne Rad und wandert. Sie verließ ihre Wohnung in Singen-Friedingen um 5:30 Uhr am 19. November 2008. Größere Geldmengen oder Gepäck hatte sie nicht mitgenommen. Sie fuhr mit dem Bus nach Singen und wurde im etwa 10 km östlich gelegenen Radolfzell zuletzt gesehen. Sie hat sich bisher nicht bei ihrere Familie gemeldet und die Polizei ist in einer Sackgasse und hat keine weiteren Hinweise.

After Dhiraj Gupta supposed that if you had less than 9 updates that people would not follow you back when you followed them on Twitter I gut curious and did a very small poll on why people followed or blocked.

I will investigate some of the findings of this in more depth later.

You are welcome to add your own observations in the comments, of course.

So as a consequence I'd say:

Following many people just to increase your reach does not work. It will only eventuelly get you blocked more and more often and thus eventuelly banned from twitter with that account.

Handy brummt. Weil ich grad mein Adressbuch nicht aktuell habe, könnte es ein guter Bekannter sein.

Ich gehe ran.

Er: "Ja, guten Tag, sie amchen doch carpe.com"

Ich: "Ja." (denke: Oh Gott, ein Anwalt sicher.)

Er: "Ja, ich bin da grad hingesurft und Sie haben da was verlinkt."

Ich: (denke: Ah, doch kein Anwalt) "Ehm, wr sind beim Weihnachtsabendessen. Schreiben Sie mir doch bitte ne Mail."

Er: "Ja, ich hab nur meinen neuen Laptop ausprobiert und... hab ne Frage."

Ich: "Ja, schreiben sie mir bitte ne Mail, Tschüss."

Er: "Tschüss. mach ich."

Noch ist keine da, wahrscheinlich konfiguriert er noch am Mailprogramm ;)
